“Every dog has their day!” Tails will be a-waggin’ and noses a-sniffin’ at this popular and playful festival, back for its seventh year.  CSBarks Dog Festival is filled with dog performances, demos, contests, and more! The Festival is Sunday, September 13, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at Carol Stream Town Center, Carol Stream.

Attractions for 2015 include Disc Dogs, Fly Ball, Weiner dog races, and our own parade of breeds. New this year is Lure coursing, an exciting sport for dogs that involves chasing a mechanically operated lure by sight rather than scent. Lure coursing is sponsored by Leash on Life Dog Training.

Disc Dogs is brought to you by Sky Dogz and their Frisbee dog champions. These special canines were either adopted or rescued from a shelter.  Paw Law brings Fly Ball, a team sport with groups of dogs racing through obstacles to collect and then return a ball. These performances are a few of the features in the main arena.

Dog photography enthusiasts can enter the CSBarks Facebook photo contest, “Caught in the Act: When Good Dogs Go Bad.”  Catch your dog on camera in the act of being mischievous and send us a picture of the aftermath. Write a clever caption that describes the act and/or “scene of the crime” and post to the CSBarks Facebook page.. The promotion ends at midnight September 9. For more information, eligibility and prizes, visit www.csbarks.org .

CSBarks also features many dog vendors in the Fido Shopping Mall, a trolley to shuttle both dogs and their people to and from the site, kids crafts, and food trucks. Admission to the festival is free. Some activities, such as Weiner races, request a small donation to participate. For a full activity line up, visit www.csbarks.org .

Friendly, leashed and vaccinated dogs (and their owners) are welcome. CSBarks is held at Carol Stream Town Center (Gary Ave & Lies Rd), in Carol Stream, 30 miles west of Chicago.

Give your dog its day at the CSBarks Dog Festival!
