West Suburban Dog

Stella entered the Spay Illinois adoption program after being rescued from an abandoned apartment, where she had been left alone, emaciated and injured. Stella also suffered from luxating patellas in both of her hind legs, a condition that would require two invasive surgeries and, at least, a three month recovery.

To date, Stella has truly overcome so much. From undergoing two surgeries, a series of hydrotherapy rehabilitation classes and several home transitions, Stella hasn’t let these challenges break her spirit. She is an incredible, sweet girl who will make ANY lucky family very happy. She is playful, loving, spunky, great with kids and other pets — a true family dog. We cannot wait for Stella to meet her forever family and look forward to the day she finds her loving home.

At Spay Illinois, our guiding mission is to end the needless suffering and euthanasia of companion animals by providing widespread access to low cost spay/neuter surgery and preventative veterinary care.

In addition to operating a pet wellness clinic, Spay Illinois also organizes foster and adoption programs to ensure the causes and consequences of companion animal overpopulation can be addressed in a variety of ways.
