Working to put an end to the needless suffering and euthanasia of companion animals through widespread access to low cost spay and neuter surgery and other preventative veterinary services, Spay Illinois, a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, recently launched their “Driven to Save Lives” campaign to help raise $25,000 to purchase a transport van for spay and neuter care.

In addition to raising much-needed funding, the campaign also strives to bring attention to the fact that 127,000 unwanted cats and dogs lose their lives in shelters across Illinois every year, and to educate folks on the important role that spay and neuter can play in putting an end to this devastating trend.

“Our work is guided by the fact that spay and neuter is the safest, most effective and most humane strategy to put an end to companion animal overpopulation,” says Spay Illinois Program Manager Brittany Eslary. “We are confident that this transport vehicle will be instrumental in promoting spay and neuter in more difficult to reach areas, as well as within shelters and animal control facilities.”
